The Synaptic Software Manager is where PCLinuxOS users update, install and remove programs.

ALWAYS click RELOAD when using Synaptic. This will check the repository for the most current updates to packages you have installed. There are currently over 12,800 packages in the repositories.

To Change a Repository

1. open Synaptic by clicking on the Synaptic icon Synaptic-icon-new.png on your taskbar.

2. Click on Setting and then click on Repositories.

You are now ready to use Synaptic.

Please Note: DO NOT select more than one repository at a time. The Repositories are all mirrors, that update at different times. Selecting more than one repository may lead to a corrupted install or causing your system to fail. The only exception is the Megagames repository. This is the only repository that is not mirrored.
